Frequently Asked Questions

Who can use the estate executor service?
The service is available to executors, notaries, attorneys, and direct family members managing an estate. You need the legal authority or written consent of the estate executor to begin.
How do heirs receive access to the digital catalogue?
After setup, each heir receives a unique email invitation with a secure tokenized link. They can view the full catalogue, see photos of every item, and cast their vote (keep, sell, donate, or undecided) — no MonoBox account required.
What happens to unsold or unclaimed items?
After the resolution deadline, unclaimed items can be auctioned through our marketplace partner, donated to Caritas Basel, or disposed of via certified recyclers. The executor makes the final decision.
Can a notary receive a disposition report?
Yes. From the executor dashboard, generate a PDF disposition report listing each item, its AI-assessed value, and the voting outcome of all heirs. The report is formatted for standard Swiss notarial proceedings.
How are sensitive documents handled?
Physical documents are stored in sealed, numbered envelopes within the MonoBox crate. The AI catalogue records their existence but does not photograph or transcribe content. Digital copies of documents must be handled separately.
What is the typical cost for estate storage?
Storage is billed per box per month (from CHF 19). The heir-report add-on is CHF 49 per report. Auction and fulfillment fees apply separately if items are sold.
